If you’re a foodie traveling to Barcelona soon, we’ve got a recommendation that you can not ignore. La Bòbila, located at the beautiful area of Empordà, was an old pottery factory now transformed into a restaurant whose offer mixes Japanese and Mediterranean cuisine.
La Bòbila is the dream of Josep Maria and Susi, its owners, that along with Max, the chef, have created this unique space that mixes 4 concepts: decoration, architecture, event organization and, of course, the restaurant. The first of them, the shop, is a decoration showroom, a blink to the origins of this industrial building, where hundreds of ceramic pieces were created until the 70’s.At the same time, La Bòbila works as an interior design studio. Along with architects and designers, they use their exquisite taste and experience in order to help people create unique spaces. And furthermore, they rent some of these amazing spaces for celebrating weddings, private events and much more. Finally, their cuisine is the main reason to visit them: a menu that offers shared entrées, sushi, salads, meat and fish dishes and of course homemade desserts such as mochis or candied figs with mascarpone ice-cream, among many others.
Its spaces (available for rent) include an industrial one, a patio, a cozy space called ‘Romantic Bòbila’ and ‘the oven’, perfect for private group dinners.La Bòbila is a hidden treasure in Catalonia, an obligated stop for those lovers of art, design and, of course, food.
