Visiting Barcelona soon? The art agenda of the city has improved its offer over the past few years, with even more galleries opening and a major proposal made by the biggest museums in the city.
Museu Picasso is a key reference centre for understanding the formative years of one of the top Spanish artists, Pablo Picasso. Its permanent collection includes more than 4.000 works and it reveals a special relationship with Barcelona, which makes it one of the top choices if you feel like visiting an art museum in the city.
Specially focused on the formative years of the artist, there you can enjoy famous series such Las Meninas (1957) but also itinerant exhibitions like our recommendation of the day, ‘Cubism and war: the crystal in the flame’, which explores the work of artists who refused to accept to produce propaganda during the 1914-1918 war.
The exhibition, that has been running in the museum for the last two months, will be still available until next January 29th, and it includes paintings by Picasso, Fernand Léger or Juan Gris, among many others.
